MathWorks in China

Founded in 1984, MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software. MATLAB and Simulink enable engineers and scientists worldwide to design and develop a wide range of advanced products, including autonomous and connected vehicles, aerospace flight control and avionics, telecommunications and other electronics equipment, industrial machinery and robots, and smart medical devices. The company’s guiding principle is to “do the right thing” for our staff members, customers, business partners, and communities for the long term.

MathWorks has two offices in China—Beijing and Shanghai—with more than 100 employees in total. Both offices are conveniently located near transportation links, abundant restaurants and entertainment centers, and many other urban amenities.

Office Culture

Among the teams in China are employees dedicated to commercial and educational sales, inside sales, application engineering, customer success, customer support, marketing, finance and operations, and more. You’ll get to work with a group of intelligent, energetic, and diligent colleagues in a friendly, collaborative atmosphere that promotes new ideas.

MathWorks recognizes the importance of intersectionality and the unique perspectives each of us brings to the table. As a result, we all strive to build a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered and enjoys opportunities for personal and professional growth and development.

Breakfast or cookies are served in the office common areas, which offer a comfortable place for casual conversation. Table tennis and other fun activities are warmly welcomed by staff in both locations. When employees work remotely, they are encouraged to chat with members of other departments to ensure they remain connected.
