Motor Control with Embedded Coder and TI’s C2000

Loretta Faluade, Texas Instruments

In this webinar, learn how you can quickly design a new motor control system using Embedded Coder® from MathWorks and the C2000™ family of microcontrollers from Texas Instruments. We walk through a demo of Simulink running two three-phase motors simultaneously using the F28069M LaunchPad™ development kit.

TI’s C2000™ MCUs have been focused on easing motor control design for over 20 years. From the older C24x DSP engine to the latest C28x floating-point DSP, C2000 MCUs provide a range of processing performance from 60 MHz to dual-core 200 MHz CPUs as well as analog and control peripherals necessary for premiere control systems. Along with the unique hardware solutions, C2000 MCUs also include the InstaSPIN-FOC™ and InstaSPIN-Motion™ software solutions, which ease three-phase motor design. MathWorks provides software that enables modeling, simulation, and code generation of control systems using Simulink® and Embedded Coder®. Embedded Coder support for TI’s C2000 family of microcontrollers includes automated build and execution, processor-optimized code including DMC and IQMath libraries, and the ability to perform processor-in-the-loop (PIL) tests with execution profiling.
