I want to do some analysis on this hyperspectral image but when i load this in the matlab workspace it say "Cannot display summaries of variables with more than 524288 elements". my value is 614x1848x220 uint16. how do i overcome this problem

Create a temporary variable using indexing. Look at that.

That message is only saying that the Variable Editor cannot display the values. But the data is loaded, and you should be able to perform analysis on it just fine. What kind of analysis are you trying to do?

To build on Stephen's comment, for example to view plane 100 in the variable editor:

plane100 = hyperImage(:, :, 100);

Then look at plane100 in the workspace/variable editor

thanks everyone for all ur help. Actually I am new to multispectral and HSI image processing. The analysis I am looking for is band selection , creation of FCC images, visualization of individual bands. And also I would like to read the HSI. Is it possible to display HSI with so many bands??? Please help.

but since all of your data is probably in a 3D array, just extract

bands = [17 53 58];   %for example
combined_bands = YourHyperImage(:, :, bands);
