While trying to run the example of event-driven task ( https://www.mathworks.com/help/soc/ug/event-driven-task-example.html ) in my Zedboard for the external mode, I experienced a hardware connection error in the SoC Builder window like this:
Unable to load screen soc.ui.ConnectHardware
Details: index exceeds the number of array elements. Index must not exceed 1.
In the MATLAB command window, the error shows like:
Cannot connect to Zynq Hardware at IP Address "zynq-zed8seJ9qTzaC".
Click here to view the troubleshooting guide and verify the IP Address settings of your hardware.
How to fix this issue in R2023b? I didn't see that issue in R2022a.

I found a fix for the hardware connection error, verified in both R2023b and R2024a.
  1. On the "SYSTEM ON CHIP" tab, click "Hardware Settings".
  2. On the "Hardware Implementation" tab, expand "Target hardware resources", enter your device IP address, and select OK to close the window.
  3. Click "Configure, Build & Depoly" and the error is gone.
