Designing DTMF Generator on SImulink

I have looked at the example called DSPDTMF. I do not seem to understand it. Could someone guide me on how to design a DTMF generator. I can generate the sinusoidal signals at required frequency but have no idea as how to feed the digits and select tone to be generated and for length of tone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
