On MacOS by default, control-f is "forward character" in the editor.
In Windows by default, control-f enters the "find text" dialog.
It is quite useful that on Windows by default, control-g is "find next"
I found out today (on complete accident) that I can use ctrl+f in MATLAB. How silly, I have been using MATLAB for going on 3 years, I don't know why it never occured to me to try!
