When I try to launch MATLAB, I receive the following error:
MathWorks Licensing Error 90. A licensing error occurred while trying to use <PRODUCTNAME>. Contact your system administrator to get the correct license file and reactivate your license on this machine.

This error occurs when the formatting of the license file is incorrect. This commonly occurs if the license file was emailed as text rather than downloading the license file. This can also occur if you use a non plain text editor such as Microsoft Word to edit the license file. If you have emailed the license file from the License Center website, you can resolve this error by downloading the license file instead. This will provide the license in a preformatted file that will work. If you cannot download the license file, see the workarounds below:
This error may be the result of having extra carriage returns in your license file. In order to avoid this, ensure that the following strings all begin on a left justified line: #, SERVER, DAEMON, and INCREMENT. Sometimes an INCREMENT line can get wrapped onto the end of the previous INCREMENT line, causing it to be omitted. Additionally, the backslash "\" character should always denote the end of a line and a carriage return should immediately follow.
For versions of MATLAB earlier than R2008a, you can also receive this error if you are missing the 'INCREMENT TMW_Archive' line from your license file. Below is an example of this line:
INCREMENT TMW_Archive MLM 16 01-jan-0000 0 AD9431CD07750CE187CB \
Should you find that your license.dat file has been corrupted, contact the License Administrator of your license to receive a new license file.
