Why do I get an error saying that I'm missing MSVCP100.dll?

When trying to run/install MATLAB I get an error saying:

"The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this issue"

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package from Microsoft.
