Why do I receive a "Unable to load Java Runtime Environment" warning when starting MATLAB on Linux with glibc 2.3?

14 ビュー (過去 30 日間)
I am using MATLAB on a Linux installation that uses glibc 2.3. When I launch MATLAB I receive the following message:
ERROR: Warning: Unable to load Java Runtime Environment: /opt/matlab6p1/sys/java/jre/glnx86/jre/lib/i386/native_threads/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference.
Warning: Disabling Java support.
Though MATLAB starts, it starts in text mode.

MATLAB 7.0 (R14) and MATLAB 6.x (R12.x, R13) have not been tested with or qualified under Linux with glibc 2.3 libraries. MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) is supported under Linux with glibc 2.3 libraries. For more information on system requirements, visit the following URL:
