digital signal processing

hi,

i have to develop an algorithm used to detect fault in distribution system using DSP in matlab/simulink.

the flow of the algorithm is as follows

1st the analog signal has to be converted to digital signal using ADC after that i have to intiate a moving window with width equall to 1/2 cycle latter fault information has to extracted using wavelet transform, latter absolute sum of details of WT over a cylce has to be computed and compared with the threshold value........but i am very new to this matlab so please help me how to achieve this task
