R G B values range of an hdr image in matlab between 1-256?

After creating an hdr image,it is tone-mapped and displayed.The RGB values are collected using the command impixel. 1. Is the range of these RGB values set within 1-256? 2. Does the luminance value also fall in between 1-256 by using these RGB values?
