It depends, on what "normalization" exactly means. This might be clear for an experiences image processing scientist, but in general, "normalizing" can mean:
  1. Scale such that the maximum value is 1.0
  2. Scale and remove offset such that the data are between 0.0 and 1.0
  3. Scale such that the data have a normal distribution with standard deviation 1.0 and the mean 0.0
  4. Scale such that the area under the curve is 1.0
  5. Scale such that the geometrical sum of the data is 1.0
  6. etc.

What would this get for you if you could do it?
