MAtlab 2021 faster than Matlab 2017

question 1. I run a script in Matlab 2017 that takes 11min, the same script in Matlab 2021 takes 3min.
Both on the same computer. There is any simple explanations?
question 2. Matlab 2015 recognize my all webcam, 2021 does not. Is a Logitech HD 720p
