Data dashboard in Matlab

I am planning a project that will include a continually-updating display of results from a database. I know there are packages like Sisense for this, but I would like to use Matlab since that's what will be used to access the database and calculate the results to display. I saw this 2018 entry in the file exchange and this somewhat complicated example, but are there any other suggestions? The person doing this work will be a beginner to Matlab and GUIs so I am looking for something relatively easy to get up to speed on.
