Can Matlab do it?

I am currently considering buying a license for a software company because of two algorithms they offer. I was curious if Matlab could achieve the same results so I could avoid purchasing more software than i need. You can do that in MATLAB. Though they may have packaged a bunch of low level function calls into a higher level function(s) that makes it easy for you. You'll have to decide if any extra functionality they created with these higher level functions is worth the price.
