Ideal Torque Source to Asynchronous Single phase Induction Motor

Hi,
I am trying to connect an ideal torque source to a Cap start single phase motor, but I can't connect the C port to the Tm port of the motor.
Regards,
Andrew.

change the "Mechanical input" to be "Mechanical rotation port" for the motor

Hi,
when I run the simulation I am getting this error:

You have to work out the rest of the issues. Or attach your model so somebody could help.
'bar' is the unit for pressure. Why does it appear in your model shown in the diagram?

Hi,
issue is resolved now. I would like to ask you there are many blocks for single phase asynchronous motor modeling like the ones below. Do you have a particular suggestion for which one I should use because I would like to apply different loads and derive the characteristic curves of the motor. The main difference between these two is that the second is a simscape physical representation model.
.
Regards,
Andrew.

I assume you are investigating the motor's electric load characters and there is no mechanical and physical interactions. I think the pure mathmatical or numerical model is better and easier.

Hi Jiang,
yes I will go with the numerical model since it's more consistent. Other than that, I have noticed that when applying positive torque to the Mechanical Input of Motor then the sign of the speed is negative so the motor works as a generator so in order to work in a motor mode I need to apply negative load to the mechanical Input as shown below.

Andrew.

Check the "Help" document.
The sign convention for the mechanical torque is when the speed is positive, a positive torque signal indicates motor mode and a negative signal indicates generator mode.

Hi Jiang,
I have checked this document. As you can see below the problem that I am getting is that I apply positive torque 0.64 Nm and I am gettting negative RPM on the motor as you can see in the red box which means that I am working on the generator mode.
Regards,
Andrew.
