I'm new to matlab and need to convert this line to python code
n=max(xx(:,2));
what i got that it's calculated the max number from a matrix and store this value in varable n
but i couldn't got what does that mean xx(:,2)?

It takes column 2 of the matrix xx and gets the max value in that column 2 and sticks it in the variable called n (yeah - bad name, I know).
