statistics with censored data

I have variable that can either left or right censored, and I want to test for a difference in the values between two groups. Is there a way to do this in Matlab?

What do you mean by left or right censored? Can you please provide a small example of inputs and expected outputs? It will make it much easier for us to understand what you want and to solve your problem.
