Older Version of Matlab for an older Computer?

we have an old 4-Core PC running 'Redhat Enterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon Update 4)'.
For this computer we'd like to install Matlab - Is there an older version which supports this OS (Linux kernel-2.4.21-27.smp)?
Are there any principal limitations or problems with this setup (beside its absoleteness)?
Regards, Roger

If you need a 100% trustworthy answer, contact the technical support. Although the contributors have a very high total sum of knowhow, for a productive system the professional estimation is required.
It would be nice, if you post their answer here afterwards.

There is an archive of all system requirements available here:
And you can use a site like distrowatch to find an appropriate glibc match:
The limitations and problems I'd worry about would be more to do with probably missing out on a lot of security updates and patches. Also, since it is Linux, the support for older hardware is usually quite good. I'd suspect you could run a more modern RedHat style distro (Fedora, CentOS, or RHEL if you have the support) on the same hardware and use a newer MATLAB (and newer web browser, etc)
You can also boot the distro from the CD before installing anything on the machine if you want to check compatability with the hardware before upgrading.
