If you can open it from the command line, then you can use system() function: https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2020b/matlab/ref/system.html to open it programmatically.

Thank you so much Ameer!
I'm using .avi video format in windows programing. Do you know what format should I use in Linux?
This is not working in Linux:
system('open myvideo.avi');

I currently don't have access to a linux machine but on macOS, both of these work
system('/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC /path_to_video_file &')
% or
system('/usr/bin/open /path_to_video_file &')
Do you have a command-line tool 'open' installed on your Linux? If yes, give the complete path to the executable, system() does not load the $PATH. In case you don't have an 'open' tool, you may find this helpful: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/264395/linux-equivalent-of-the-mac-os-x-open-command.
