Generator polynomial from primitive polynomial over ternary

I'm trying to create a generator polynomial over the ternary field. Using gfprimfd
gfprimfd(7, 'min', 3)
you can specify you want the ternary field for a primitive polynomial by setting p = 3. However, I can't find anything similar for specifying the ternary field for a generator polynomial. Is there any built in function?
