How to divide a voice signal into 20 ms blocks with a 10ms shift ?

I need to split an audio signal into 20ms blocks with a 10 ms shift.The Sample rate of the signal is 16000. How can I proceed ?

I have no idea what you want to do from the description you provided, however the Signal Ptocessing Toolbox buffer function will likely do what you want.

Hi thank you, then I have a signal and for each 20 ms block of this signal I have to make a tenth order LP analysis. So before calculating LP I have to divide the signal into 20 ms blocks and with 10 ms shift and I wanted to understand how I could proceed.

I still have no idea what you want to do, and no idea what ‘LP’ is in this context.

Please read the buffer documentation to see if it will do what you want. It wants the shift to be in integer (index) units, wo you will have to provide that by calculating it from the samplling frequency.

Example —

Fs = 44100;                                     % Sampling Frequency (Hz)
blocktime = 20;                                 % Block = 20 ms
bufframe = Fs * blocktime*1E-3;                 % Frame Length = samples/sec * sec

So 20 ms equates to 882 index units with a sampling frequency of 44100 Hz. Make appropriate changes for your signal.
