How to extract curves from the profile of Laser line generator?

The repository from github:
Link: https://github.com/hoffsupes/Structured-Light-Laser-Stripe-Reconstruction
It does nothing as excpected. If this worked I would just take in the laser output as curves and measure using spatial calibration. Ples see below image
Can someone please help me with the repository?
