Mac cannot open MATLAB Stand alone app

I am hoping someone can help me resolve the issue I am facing. I have built a standalone MATLAB app through App Designer and compiled it on a Mac to create a Mac compatible app. The machine I am attempting to install the app on has MATLAB runtime environment installed, but when I go to open the standalone app file (via control + click and say open) I get the notification saying that the file cannot be opened. Has anyone encountered this before? I've installed the app on other Macs and did not encounter this issue.
