Create Checker board pattern

Hello, im using this code from Matlab help but i get error.

J = checkerboard(20);

figure
imshow(J)

>> Fringe Chessboard

Undefined function or variable 'Fringe'.

Can anyone help please

There is nothing wrong with the code you have quoted from the MATLAB documentation:

J = checkerboard(20);
figure
imshow(J)

That should work as long you have the Image Processing Toolbox installed. (The Image Processing Toolbox contains the checkerboard function.)

The problem is occuring in your next line:

Fringe Chessboard

What is Fringe supposed to be? Is that your function, or a function that somebody gave you? It is not a function in MATLAB or any other MathWorks product.
