how can we determine optimum threshold for Switch combining?

In Switched combining,out of multiple copies at antenna, the copy with SNR> optimum threshold will be selected. How can we find this optimum theshold?

Please explain the connection to Matlab. Which toolboxes do you expect to be useful to solve this problem? What have you tried so far and which problems occur?

I have simulated all the combining techniques on matlab..this is a modification of selection combining..but i am stuck at the logic building where optimum threshold comes to play..
