Comparing two model fits

I'm trying to compare two nested models to see if the model with more terms is a significantly better fit than the simpler model. In R, I was able to do this using the simple function anova(fit1,fit2), as documented here: http://rss.acs.unt.edu/Rdoc/library/drc/html/anova.drc.html
Is there a way to do this test in matlab for model fits generated using the fit() function? Is there a different way to generate my fit that will work if fit() isn't able to provide the necessary parameters to do the calculation? Thanks!
