Using in-built Digital Up-converter (DUC) and Digital Down-converter (DDC) Blocks in MATLAB Simulink

Hello!
I am trying to build a transceiver system where I use a DUC and a DDC for up-converting my baseband signal to passband and down-converting the same signal back to baseband in the receiver. I do obtain correct spectrums but the system gives me a BER of around 0.45. I assume that the problem is with the filters inside the block which is non-tunable. I belive the filtering done in DUC and the DDC are not complimentary of each other and hence the BER is high. Can anyone please tell me if you have used the ib-built blocks successfully with low BER?
Thank you
