I am currently preprocessing infrared images and corresponding RGB images of an oil spill. I want to automaticly "crop" the right area on a lot of images. I tried this with edge detection but the area that i want cropped out is not dominant enough for the edge detection. In the attachments you find a example of the IR-image and the RGB image with a red border that has to be cropped out, also for every image the area of intrest is not on the exact same place in every image so to do this with coordinates is a thing i tried but didnt work for me.
The images are the frames of a video from a experimental oil spill.
Right now i programmed it to do this manually but that would take a lot of time to use this data for furhter research.
Thanks a lot in advance
