Plot matrix and vectors in 3D

I use the following command per MATLAB example to calcualte Short-Time Fourier Transform:
[s,f,t] = stft(x,fs,'Window',hamming(2205,'periodic'),'OverlapLength',1980,'FFTLength',2205);
My question is how can I plot the data similar to the way MATALB itself plots using when we don't specfiy the output vectors. I want to plot "s" and "f" as a function of another signal (instead of "t") but am not sure how to reprocude plots that MATLAB automatically generates with "stft".
One example is given below. Note that "s" has real and imaginary parts.

The undocumented function signalwavelet.internal.convenienceplot.plotTFR is used to do the plotting. For the main part of the plot, that does an imagesc() of 20*log10(abs(S)+eps) with x position T and y position F
