Hello matlab community, Im currently working on a matlab project of MRS voxel segmentation. Currently Im starting to load the anatomical volume and display the three planes. I need to align my image to the coordenates of the scanner, to later obtain the Volume of Interest, which is referenced to the isocenter. I´ve have only found 'ImagePositionPatient' and 'Slice thickness'. Do you know algorithms to align the volume to the coordenates of the MRI Scanner.

With MRI you also need to account for the orientation of the slices relative to the scanner coordinate system. 6 of the 9 elements of the direct cosine transform should be encoded in the dicom header, if I recall correctly. You are also forgetting that slices don't need to be contiguous; they can overlap (as is common in CT), or have gaps between them (which is common in MRI). The SliceIncrement descibes the distance between the start of consecutive slices, so it is probably what you are actually looking for. SliceIncrement is not a required dicom tag, but is often present.
