I am making a thermal battery model of a 18650 cell in simscape. I am using the battery component and a thermal resistor as the basis. The goal is to keep is simple to start. The simulation is working good and tuned to some real test data. I create a subsystem with pieces that make up the single cell. Now I need to replicate to the larger series and parallel cells for a large pack. How can I make this subsystem a component that I can come back to later and tune without repeating the copy and paste for each cell of the pack? Ideally this is a model reference but I see this is not supported in Simscape.

Introduced in R2022b, Simscape Battery provides functionality to build and simulate battery packs. Simscape Battery includes MATLAB objects and methods to automate the creation of battery models. These MATLAB objects allow you to define your own battery design specifications, visualize your battery in a 3-D space, customize the modeling resolution during simulation, and generate a Simulink library that contains your custom generated battery blocks. You can use these blocks to assist with virtual battery design and verification, help develop battery control algorithms using Simulink, explore design sensitivities, and design thermal management strategies. The Simscape cell model block can be the Battery (Table-Based) block, the Battery Equivalent Circuit block, or a custom block with specific requirements.
