Is there a routine for recursive fft?

I have in my archives an article in the EDN magazine from September 29.1988 by a Tom Springer entitled "Sliding FFT computes frequency spectra in real time". He provides some Fortran code that he claims does the sliding FFT. Are there any Matlab routines that can do the fft calcn recursively?
