Hello,
I want to know if it is possible to integrate a frequency converter (AC-DC-AC) in a Simulink/Simscape model that is run using the phasor-mode simulation (in powergui). From a threotical point of view, I think that this should not be possible, as I specify the (fixed) base simualtion frequency and the components assume this frequency in their phasor calcuations. However, when I change my entire model to a discrete simulation type, it runs extremely (unusable) slow or even errors out.
The application of this is a converter in a wind turbine, where the generator produces AC of varying frequency (depending on rotor speed) while the grid frequency on the other side is fixed.
Is it possible to simulate only a part of the model (i.e. generator and converter) in discrete mode and the other (electronic) components for performance reasons in phasor mode? Or is there any other workaround to this situation? (I thought about going back to Simulink domain and do frequency conversion and and a small power loss there)
Thanks in advance!
