The directory path window has somehow gone from the interface. What to do?

In the Enviroment section of the Home tab of the Toolstrip, click the small triangle below the Layout button. Move the mouse to the Current Folder Toolbar and change that setting from "Inside Current Folder" to "Below Toolstrip".

Alternately if you used to have the Current Folder desktop component but closed it and want it back, in that same Layout menu select "Current Folder" to reenable it.
