How can I increase a Gammatone Filterbank's (2019a inbuilt object) specific band's bandwidth? I have tried to use getBandwidths and multiply that but it doesn't work. Any other ways?

Hi Angeliki,
The bandwidth of an individual filter in the gammatone filter bank is defined by its center frequency based on this formula:
bw = 1.019 * hz2erb(fc)
where fc is the center frequncy (in Hz), and hz2erb is a function that converts hz to the ERB scale. The lower the center frequency, the narrower the filter. The object does not allow you to directly change the bandwith. It does, however, allow you to decide how many filters to include in the bank, and the freuqnecy range over which to insert the filters (they are inserted uniformly in the ERB scale).
HTH,
Jihad

Hello Jihad,
Thank you very much for your answer! I fugured that might be the case myself , however I just wanted to use the broader filters on frequencies from 1000 Hz and over, so essentially I divided the signal into two bands (high and low) and sent each one into a different filterbank with a different amount of filters and it seems to do the trick!
Cheers again for the help!
Best,
Angeliki
