matlab 2019a installation ID

Hi, where can I find the installation IDs for different versions of Matlab - Matlab 2018a, b, Matlab 2019a, for both research and academic versions. I am a system admin and our university has both types of licenses.

Visit https://www.mathworks.com/mwaccount/. Click on a particular license under "My Software". On the page that comes up, click on the "Install and Activate" tab. On the right hand side of the page that comes up, there is "Related Tasks": click on "Update license file".

The page that comes up from there will have activation labels of the systems the product is already activated against. You can click on the "get license file" area to download the license file. Or you can click on Advanced Options to get the activation key or File Installation Key.

If the software is not already installed on the system, then in the "Related Tasks" area instead of "Update license file", choose "Activate to Retrieve License File".

It is frustrating that there are not more direct paths to do these tasks. I would post links, but unfortunately the URLs contain license-specific information that you would have to know in order to URL-hack to go directly there. (The first component is your license number, which is easy enough, but the second component is a number that I have not been able to determine the purpose of.)

I have to say, Matlab gives excellent support to questions concerning technical stuff. But for trivial issues like licensing and installation, Matlab has a very very poor way of describing steps. For example I just cant find the install and activate tab. The page that comes up after cliciking the license under "My Software" directly leads me to the list of products with a download option. After downloading 2019a Matlab asks me for a license file, which redirects me to the 'install and activate tab' to download the license file. This vicious cycle continues for all eternity without any respite. Catch 22.

I suspect the Install and Activate tab is only available to Technical Contact and Administrative Contact for the license.
