Disable MatLab From Running System Commands / Opening External Programs

When running an encrypted test code, there is a command that pops up youtube in my google chrome system browser. I understand how they do it, but cannot access the code to stop it.

Is there a way to stop matlab from automatically opening programs?

I'd try to redefine the system() and/or run() function with your own dummy program, though that may cause side effects.

dos() and unix() and system() . But possibly also open() and web()

I found they are using the web() function, so I created a new, blank web() function in the same folder. Did the trick.
