how could I find specified number of permutation of a vector ?

hi everybody,

perms(v) returns a matrix containing all permutations of the elements of vector v, but I need just specified number of this matrix for example 1000 permutations. there is not any problem when the number of elements of vector is low but when it is high I face with this message "Maximum variable size allowed by the program is exceeded."

Any particular permutations? Could they be random?
