when in matlab how do i browse to select the directory i wish

in the current directory i have a folder mplot. i click on the folder and it takes me to the folder. nice. but i see no way of getting back. is there a browse button???

click on .. (two periods ) if you see that .

Up in the address bar where it has your folders listed, click on the one folder to the left of your mplot subfolder, or you can click on the folder with the green arrow coming out of it. See figure below:

Well it looks pretty darn close. You're just using R2018a instead of R2018b, and the folders in the path are different but I imagine you can figure that out since you're a smart engineer.

But look at the red arrows - they point to essentially the same places. Just click on one of the places the arrows point to if you want to go up/back a level.

got it!! i see the path to the directory along sideand i can choose from there also.

Sorry, I should have pointed to the folder with the black upwards arrow instead of the green curved arrow, but I guess you figured that out. Correct image below:
