How to get around the class matlab.mix​in.CustomD​isplay in Matlab 2012?

Hi, I created a class, that uses the class matlab.mixin.CustomDisplay as a superclass. This class was introduced in Matlab R2013a, but I would like to use my class also in older Matlab versions (eg 2012). Does anyone know how to get around the getHeader or getPropertyGroups methods in older Matlab versions?
