How can I give the output into a text file?

Hi, I have written the code and it works perfectly and now I need to put the output module into a txt file or excel file. Can anyone help? I keep getting errors like:
Invalid file identifier. Use fopen to generate a valid file identifier. I tried file = fopen('test.txt','w');
