Hello, i am trying to substitute the USB cable used to communicate Simulink and Arduino for an ESP module.
I use a virtual COM port attached to the ESP IP, and the ESP is connected to the serial pins in order to flash Arduino. While the programming of the simulink model works and runs just fine, when i try to use external mode it gives me an error saying that the COM is not found.
My question is if there's any way to spy the communication between Simulink and Arduino, or if someone knows what's the difference between uploading the hardware and running external mode.
Thank you

I would like to clarify that there is a difference in the implementation of uploading the code in the hardware and executing the Simulink model in the external mode.
I need some information:
1) A detailed description of the setup that you are using for generating a 'virtual COM port attached to the ESP IP'.
2) the platform details (execute 'ver' command in the MATLAB command window).
3) Any relevant files used/example/web page link followed to establish a 'USB over IP'.
