How can I exteract value of a field of an structure in MATLAB FUNCTION block and allocate it to scaler quantity?

In PSO Algorithm any particle has its own position, velocity and... that can be stored in structure as its fields. But I need to allocate the postion of particle to duty cycle of converter(a scaler quantity). Thanks
