Superimpose imagesc on top of colour uint8 image

Is it possible to superimpose an image generated with imagesc on top of a colour uint 8 image? I have one image containing data about the temperature of piece of skin, and another image showing the skin in true colour. How can i superimpose the temperature image, created using imagesc (most right image in picture), on top of the true colour image (most left image in picture) without having the background blue of the temperature image.

Yes but somehow you have to make a grayscale image out of your RGB image first.
