Do not hide uimenu on click

Hi all,
I am develping a GUI with MATLAB 2014b on Windows 7. I have a submenu consisting of 8 uimenus as shown in the following pic.
As expected, when I click on a 'CH' uimenu to uncheck it, the uimenu and its parent, disappear. I'd like them to remain after the click, and just check or uncheck.
Any help would be appreaciated.

Did you find the solution for this issue? I am struggling trying to solve the same problem.
