Capture video from iPhone with Image Acquisition Toolbox

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 11.2.1 Is there a way to get Image Acquisition Toolbox to recognize this device in the hardware? Note, I've already downloaded and installed the OS Generic Video Interface hardware support package and the toolbox recognizes the built-in webcam just fine.

No. You need to connect to it through IP, and IP devices are not known to Image Acquisition Toolbox "in the hardware" because they are not connected to the host system.

Thank you, but I'm actually attempting to acquire the video via the Image Acquisition Toolbox rather than as an IP camera.

You will not be able to do that without writing a custom IMAQ adapter, I suspect.
