For every scientist or science student, the most important thing to learn is asking good questions. This is not a question, this is a vague description of an assignment. If I solve this for you, who will get credit? Will I get part of your diploma?

For every scientist or science student, the following are very important things to learn:

 1. Where to search
 2. How to narrow the search to the most 
promising sources.
 3. How to skim the sources to order them in the 
most promising order.
 4. Rank the most promising( not necessarily the 
most prolific) authors and articles
 5. How to formulate the most promising 
questions.
   a. BRIEFLY explain your problem as 
specifically as possible
   b. Explain what you do and don't understand 
   c. Indicate what sources you have consulted
   d. Explain what you think might be the best way to 
approach the problem and how far you have gotten
