Sometimes this error can happen if you have antivirus software installed on your computer that is blocking the MATLAB installer from downloading some files. You could try disabling your antivirus software and then trying to install MATLAB.

If that doesn't work, could you post that log file mentioned? That might be helpful.

Yes,the error was related to antivirus. I disabled it and downloaded the software once again and installed that. Thank you.
