How to remove edge color of legend box

the edge of legend box covers part of my graph. so i will make it white or colorless.

You can create the legend with a disabled box, see doc legend:
legend(axes_handle,'boxoff')
But I'm afraid, that the background of the legend is still opaque. Then the background color of the legend has to be set to 'none'.
